MATEJ ZALOKAR

If I were not who I am today, my path might have led in many different directions. I might have pursued technology instead of working in Geotechnical field, spent my time in virtual worlds instead of exploring the hidden beauty of caves, or discovered creative expression later rather than sooner. Yet each choice I have made has shaped not only my work, but the way I see the world.

My journey began early. I visited my first cave at the age of seven. That moment sparked a curiosity that has stayed with me ever since. Today, I am a member of the Speleo Club Rakek, where we explore new caves every year, constantly discovering places few have ever seen. Equipped with my Fuljifilm camera and several kilograms of flashlights, I venture into these dark spaces to reveal what would otherwise remain hidden.

Photography has become more than a passion. It is my way of observing, understanding, and sharing. Through the lens, I capture moments that often go unnoticed. The quiet strength of nature, the subtle details of life, and the raw beauty found beneath the surface. It allows me to express thoughts and emotions that words cannot fully convey, while also creating a connection with those who view my work.

This space was created to share that perspective. It is an invitation to experience nature in its many forms through my eyes to pause, reflect, and perhaps see something familiar in a new way.

I am grateful to everyone who has supported and inspired me along this journey.
